When two meaningful ideas crash, this Exoskeleton ZooTower appears as a new sort of animal that just can grow up in these ecological reserve.

1. This Exoskeleton zoo tower  is the reflect of what is happening in this ecological reserve. This landmark pretends to be the reflection of a growing ecosystem where different kind of habitats take place. This different habitats or different platforms make a reclassification of the animals and make new combinations or groups. This groups are created by the way of how these  animals lived and which ones are they natural ecosystems.  This habitable platforms are development each one by levels in a helicoidal system that allows that each of them has a 360 grades of view and conform 6 different habitats. The Grassland forest, the rainforest, the mountain, the swamp and the desert.
2. The Second Important element is to think on a Exoskeleton. Exoskeleton  as the  exterior structure, skeleton, shape and own  support  for many animals.  This Exoskeleton tower  is the support for the different habitable platforms.

This Zoo tower is visible from the river and puts in evidence all this exclusive ecosystem; the ecosystems that already  exist in the ecological reserve and the other that appears once the animal habits are studied.

It’s a tribute of what is happened in this ecological landscape  and the animal structure.

Proponemos hacer de las nuevas instalaciones del MAMM, por 5 días, el mercado del trueque, un espacio social, de intercambio y ocio, sin la acción del dinero como medio de cambio.

En el mercado del trueque podemos cambiar aquellos objetos que tenemos y no usamos, o aquellos que dejaron de gustarnos, por aquellos que deseamos o necesitamos; podemos intercambiar nuestras habilidades o conocimientos por otros o por algo que queremos.

De esta manera, pensamos que se puede intercambiar una planta por un libro, una receta por una caja de herramientas, una clase de geometría por un cuadro, un televisor por una lámpara, un concierto por publicidad, un reloj por una cámara, un martillo por una sandia…Todo intercambio es posible.

Con el trueque los objetos y las cosas tienen otro tipo de valor, un valor simbólico, un valor necesidad o un valor afectivo.

Zoom sobre las margaritas blancas.

Quisimos entender el terreno baldío al que nos enfrentábamos como la posibilidad de cultivar un jardín. Para esto hicimos un zoom en un jardín de margaritas blancas y en un juego de me quiere mucho, poquito o nada fuimos deshojando las flores dejando caer sus pétalos en el suelo verde.

Poco a poco movimos los pétalos para crear una configuración más cercana a nuestros intereses, cada uno encontró su lugar, nivel e inclinación.

Cada pétalo blanco, se dibujó como una figura geométrica irregular alargada, como un polígono de seis lados. Cuando los pétalos se agruparon las fachadas se hicieron mas extensas, mas diversas; dejando así entrantes y salientes del verde sobre el blanco y de los pétalos sobre el jardín. Así pudimos hacer que las relaciones espaciales entre exterior e interior fueran más cercanas y menos definidas.

Este lugar tratado de esta manera por medio de una unidad que se repite nos permitió configurar un proyecto de jardín donde todas las partes tienen igual importancia y tratan de funcionar como centros autónomos.

Creemos que un jardín infantil debe ser un lugar lleno de experiencias diversas, rico en micro espacios que abran las posibilidades de juego y permitan la multiplicidad en simultáneo.

Zoom bajo las margaritas blancas.

Desde arriba se ven los pétalos blancos que puestos unos al lado de los otros crean un conjunto claro y fácil de leer. Pero si seguimos haciendo zoom y dejamos estas hojas blancas atrás nos adentraremos en un lugar rico en colores, formas y experiencias.

La tierra en su cercanía se vuelve un terreno lleno de sistemas espaciales. Un insecto deambulando por allí nos permite evidenciar los accidentes topográficos que lo llevan a situaciones diversas.

De este modo descubrimos el jardín que se esconde bajo los pétalos. Es uno subdividido en jardines temáticos que se relacionan entre sí: Jardín pétalo o sala de atención de niños, donde cada espacio se identifica con una flor de la región, piso blando de color, con cubierta blanca y sub-espacios con dimensiones y características lumínicas diferentes;  jardines valle de arena, colina cueva, llanura de madera, cañón laberinto,  montaña de pasto alto, peñasco tobogán, colina de caucho, ciénaga de madera, etc.

Cada uno identificado con un accidente topográfico que lo configura y con una o varias acciones que permiten el constante juego y aprendizaje de los niños.

Un jardín de jardines.

Entendimos el proyecto como un jardín  de jardines.  Descompusimos el terreno dado en polígonos unidos entre si, sin superposiciones ni vacíos. Nos acercarnos a las estructuras teselares específicamente a los diagramas de Voronoi[1]. Cada parte, cada pétalo, cada jardín es un polígono convexo que contiene un centro generador. Así, cada jardín es un centro gravitatorio y el conjunto de ellos una multitud de centros diferenciados.  Cada uno autónomo y todos con la misma importancia. De esta manera proyectamos un jardín de jardines sin monumentos ni símbolos, sin figuras que priman, sólo una multitud de jardines gravitatorios.

We’ve changed the conditions for you. We want to subvert the process of housing project as a problem where the private space is the first thing to solve instead the public space. In these proposal  the m3 (cubic meters) of intimate occupation for domestic development is involved with an  endless blanket  as a  common space that we all call “public space”. Place where people understand the meaning of community and coexistence. In this way the domestic m3 are the place of possibilities and uncertainty. Where you can customize the forms and suggest what you want.

Now, we do not want to make this proposal just pretending to resolve   the 9SG problem that Hejduk had introduced to us.  We also want to honor his memory giving a second life to his drawings, preserving their aspect, their graphical potential, their aesthetics, their beauty and their high sense of romanticism. But changing their function and program.

You can imagine this project  as an entire entity that has three primary components. They can be explained in this way: think of the natural condition of one fruit: Its skin is a continuous surface with reliefs, nuances, clefts (public space). This protective and resistant skin involves the intermediate space or medium level, understood as a soft body frame with liquids and fluids. Both skin and fleshy fruit have in their nucleus an amorphous solid and a protective center which gives it stability and affects their proportions.

The new spatial relationships that are woven into this system assemble: the ground level -free public space, the middle level-private space and the upper level as a continuity of public space. The field´s conditions, the construction site and the urban mat is directly affected by them. The structural and   non-structural architectural elements   are combined to find the way to materialize the idea behind the spatial organization.

Note: drawings, diagrams, illustrations have been elaborated by us in Auto CAD, Photoshop and 3D max from the original drawings of John Hejduk. We compose with them other images with different meaning changing (as we explained previously) the original function of these ideas to build our project.
